Daisy Makeig-Jones’s lustreware provided respite from the horrors of World War I and brought new life to a tired Wedgwood Factory. Makeig-Jones’s designs reached the height of popularity during the 1920s; her designs fit well within the intrepid and lively spirit of that decade. Decorated with vibrant hummingbirds in flight, this blue and orange lustreware bowl is a gorgeous example of Daisy Makeig-Jones’s unique artistry. The Flying Humming Birds pattern debuted with the popular color combination of deep blue and orange in 1920 and quickly became a bestseller.
