Like many Western designers before her, Wedgwood lustreware designer Daisy Makeig-Jones drew inspiration from the arts and design of the Far East. This bowl’s mother-of-pearl lustre exterior shows Bai-fuku and Waso-byo-ye figures, two characters from Japanese lore. The orange lustre interior, which was Daisy’s favorite color, shows butterflies and an intricate lotus medallion.
