In producing his Florian line, William Moorcroft utilized a medieval ceramic technique of piping liquid clay onto an earthenware body to create designs in low relief. This process resulted in crisp designs of decidedly Art Nouveau inspiration which stood out against richly colored glazes. This goblet is a lovely example of the Florian line of William Moorcroft pottery.
